Abstract

Lidah buaya (Aloe vera) mengandung senyawa antibakteri seperti tanin dan saponin yang berpotensi menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri patogen. Staphylococcus aureus merupakan bakteri Gram-positif yang sering menjadi penyebab infeksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas ekstrak Aloe vera dalam menghambat pertumbuhan S. aureus menggunakan metode sumuran dalam uji laboratorium. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 100% menghasilkan zona hambat terbesar (9,3 mm), diikuti konsentrasi 80% (8,6 mm), 60% (7,8 mm), 40% (7,6 mm), dan 20% (6,8 mm), dengan kontrol positif sebesar 6,8 mm. Kesimpulannya, ekstrak Aloe vera efektif menghambat pertumbuhan S. aureus dengan aktivitas sedang (zona hambat >5 mm) pada seluruh konsentrasi yang diuji.
